"Martin Luther nailed his 95 Thesis, a statement on religious abuse of power, to the church doors in 1517. While not the first of its kind of protest (nor the last), organized religion continues to interpret, misrepresent, and manipulate patriarchal power structures to this day. In the evangelical church of America, the Creative has been cut, torn, shredded and reassembled into something unrecognizable and traded for a god of power, control, fear and division. This piece offers thought on addressing religious trauma as the divide between those calling out/leaving the church and those forcing the unholy power of Christian Nationalism becomes greater. The piece is not intended to solve the problem or answer any questions, but a way for the artist to feel how raw and messy leaving the church has felt over the last several years."
