"I have always been fascinated by birds. I have had pet birds, with a open cage policy, and I have had pet birds building a nest within the confines of my apartment, watching the whole process from my living room sofa. I also had a dove with a broken wing recuperate in my kitchen, riding my shoulder throughout the house and becoming a true friend. Releasing “Dixie the dove” on my lakefront property in Texas was quite emotional. Moving to Milwaukie brought me into my first personal contact with crows. What I have seen is that they are a very close knit family, not only hunting and forging together, but also defending and caring for their young as a true family does. Real Community!
