Photography (mirror, steam, lights).

Color holds my emotions about a memory. This series looks at my associations with the world and explores memory through the exploration of form. What does this color tend to symbolize within art and how does it contrast or compare with my personal interpretations? Through these explorations, I am able to reach an understanding with myself and the environment I inhabit.
The color white is one I associate with hope because of its ties to light. The saying “light at the end of a tunnel” is one I often find myself turning to as I search for small moments of joy and positivity fueled by desperation. In one of these moments of desperation, I came close to a suicide attempt but talked myself out of it and instead took a shower to calm down. When I got out, the steam on the mirror left a mark I interpreted as a hand coming out of the light and pointing to darkness. Looking at this right above my reflection, it felt like looking at a light breaking through the tunnel rather than being at the end of it.
Everyone has an innate strain placed on them through being alive. Everyone faces some sort of challenge through however they choose to live. We all search for a light of hope through interpersonal memories and symbolisms. I happened to see a color and shape when I needed it most.
