"As we celebrate the 250th birthday of our country, I find it important to reflect on what our flag represents, and what it means to be an American. The American flag represents the ideals, aspirations, and history of the United States as a symbol of freedom, unity, and national pride. It also symbolizes equal rights, service, and friendship. There is a big ripple that is attacking our democracy, a ripple, pulling our country away from everything it was founded on. "Liberty and Justice for all " addresses this, asking that we not only examine what our flag stands for, but examine the ideologies that are pulling us from the intended representation that our forfather's formed.
