Materials: Air dry clay, sari silk ribbon, hand dyed and distressed cotton fabric, vintage lace, hand dyed fabric waste, French vintage embroidered fine muslin, unbleach natural fiber.

Artist note: Back in the 1800s Oregon City (the official end of the Oregon Trail) like many Willamette Valley towns, drew their water from polluted rivers and wells. Often contaminated by sewage this lead to outbrake of waterborne diseases, such as Typhoid fever (caused by Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi bacteria) with devastating consequences. Using hand dyed fabric waste shaped as the bacteria I hand sew it to the "drop" of water in which the doll is sitting in and on her dress too, symbolising the contagion spreding to her body.
 
Care instructions: Keep dry, away from humidity and direct sunlight. Do not pull or brush the hair. This i s a NOT posable doll.
