Ten Yetman is a visual artist born in Winnipeg, Canada. After attending the Fine Arts Program at the University of Manitoba (2004-2009) she spent many years living in Mexico City and afterwards in Nagoya, Japan teaching art classes and exhibiting her work.

 

Heavily influenced by her experiences abroad, her pop-surrealist work explores cultural and historical expressions of death and immortality. After moving back to Canada in 2013 she has been exhibiting work in galleries across Canada and the United States.

Ten's work references fun bright colours and patterns, parties and beach scenes and "uncomfortable" images of horror. Her paintings feature whimsical creatures of her own invention and has been heavily influenced by the cemeteries of Real de Catorce, Fellini Films, DEVO music videos, 80s's fabrics, Renaissance Art, 50’s and 60’s Sci Fi films, Monty Python, Space Travel, fairytales and British Literature.

In 2023, Ten completed a monumental mural (80 ft x 11 ft) in downtown Winnipeg called “Tigers on Another Planet with Rainbow Laser Fun Clouds” Recently Ten’s work has been in group shows at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in LA, Helvella Art in Oakland, Arch Enemy Arts in Philadelphia and a solo show at Poetic Tiger Gallery in Boise.
