Fellini, Méliès and Collodi. alessandra gugliara | april 2 - 25, 2026 The Imperfecta Gallery is excited to present Fellini, Méliès and Collodi - Reimagining classics with papier mache . On view April 2-25 2026, the show includes new works by Italian mask maker Alessandra Gugliara… except that only some pieces are new, because they were… lost – this is an intriguing story! In December 2025 Italian mask maker Alessandra Gugliara shipped her new body of work to the Imperfecta Gallery for her solo show "Aletheya ." However, half of the collection never reached the gallery, apparently lost by the postal service. Only half of the new body of work ended up being showcased in February. The loss of the remaining pieces left a saddening and disappointing gap in Gugliara and the Gallery. However, in March 2026, a miracle occurred – a parcel with the missing masks appeared at the imperfecta gallery, unannounced. Where they were for the past 3 months will remain a mystery – perhaps they travelled the world? Given the rekindled opportunity, Imperfecta's curator Daria Loi reimagined the entire collection and, with Gugliara's permission, decided to showcase the entire set with new stories, all emerging from her embrace of the refound loot. In Fellini, Méliès and Collodi - Reimagining classics with papier mache , a portion of the show is dedicated to "The Adventures of Pinocchio" (1883) by Carlo Collodi, a second to "La strada" (1954) by Federico Fellini and the third to "A Trip to the Moon" (1902) by Georges Méliès. Works are clustered according to these three wondrous themes and accompanied by curatorial notes about the 3 classics they narrate. About the artist Graduated from the State Art Institute of Monza (Italy), Alessandra worked in fashion and theater and currently conducts experiential artistic workshops with the ArtLab™ method at schools, private individuals and museums. - Under the Walnut Tree (june 2025) | imperfecta.xyz
2025 solo show that featured new artworks by Paola Zakimi. under the walnut tree. paola zakimi | june 7-28, 2025 The Imperfecta Gallery presents Debajo del Nogal (Under the Walnut Tree), a solo exhibition featuring Argentinian artist Paola Zakimi -- a n intimate meditation on the garden as a refuge, where even decay holds space for renewal and transformation. Debajo del Nogal invites viewers into an intimate, seasonal world shaped by the quiet rituals of a garden. Filled with leaves, flowers, and small creatures living in harmony, this exhibition reflects on the joy of impermanence and the beauty of renewal. It is a poetic meditation on home, memory, and transformation, where life fades and returns with the rhythm of the earth. With this body of work, Zakimi takes us on an intimate journey exploring the shared places that fill everyday gardens — the interstitial spaces where autumn leaves gather, and where old, empty pots become part of a stone patio. There, among drowsy plants that welcome the cold, flowers and small creatures live in harmony, echoing the rhythm of the seasons. They bid farewell to summer’s visitors, celebrate the soft light of winter, and anticipate the coming frosts. Under the Walnut Tree is a poetic reflection on the garden as a living cycle, where life, death, and rebirth coexist in quiet harmony. As the artist puts it: “Here, death is not an end, but part of the cycle—quiet, essential, and full of meaning. There is joy in perishing and in being born again. My garden is a refuge. The home. My haven.” This solo show features handcrafted talismans — flowers and magical creatures — that embody the spirit of protection, transformation, and seasonal magic. About Paola Zakimi Paola Zakimi spent all of her childhood and part of youth in cold Patagonia, Argentina. Her independent nature led her to Buenos Aires. She studied Arts and Graphic design in Buenos Aires. She had lived in Buenos Aires, Palermo till 2007 prompting her to move to Villa Giardino, Cordoba, where she resides till now. - synaesthesia #1 (mar 2024) | imperfecta.xyz
Learn about the international group show "Synaesthesia" synaesthesia #1. group show | mar 2-23, 2024 For March 2024 the imperfecta art & design gallery presented a group show featuring artists Daria Loi, Deborah Donelson, Erika Rier, Erin Redding, Hannah Amis, Jennifer Gillia Cutshall, Marco Calvi, and Wynter Jones. In this exhibit, "Synaesthesia #1," artists were challenged to respond to the most unusual challenge and series of prompts: they were given the portion of a poem, a sound, a scent, a flavor, a texture, and an image — and then asked to create a new original artwork by mixing them all up. "I studied synaesthesia while working on my architectural thesis back in Italy," Loi says, "and continue to be immensely fascinated by the diverse ways in which our brain makes sense of what surrounds us, especially when multiple senses are stimulated concurrently." While all connected by the same thread, all exhibited artworks differ in wondrous, exciting ways, demonstrating that our brains have an incredible ability to create infinite meanings and layers of possibilities.

Page featuring Gallery Artist Deborah Kruger, fiber artist based in Mexico. gallery artist . deborah kruger My latest abstract fiber art focuses on the tragic losses of the 21st century, specifically the local and world-wide impacts of human-induced climate change and habitat fragmentation on the extinction of bird species, and death of indigenous languages. The feathers in my textile paintings, sculptures and installations are fabricated from recycled plastic that is silk-screened with images from my drawings of endangered birds. My portfolio contains drawings of over 40 highly endangered birds, which I create at residencies around the world. My feathers are overprinted with text in endangered languages such as Shorthand, Yiddish, Purepecha and other indigenous languages, whose last living speakers/users are in steep decline. Using plastic feathers embeds a layered narrative that addresses the relentless consumerism driving the loss of both bird and human habitat. I have thus been able to use my prior experience and training in wallpaper and textile design in the service of broad ecological and cultural concerns, while maintaining a fiber sensibility. My surface design training at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City deeply influenced my artwork. Even today, materiality, traditional women’s clothing and environmental concerns are all evidence of my early exposure to textiles. currently available . deborah kruger Quick View Red Fringe (Deborah Kruger) Price $960.00 Quick View Gold Fringe (Deborah Kruger) Price $960.00 Quick View Black Fringe (Deborah Kruger) Price $780.00 Quick View Turquoise Rectangle (Deborah Kruger) Price $960.00 Quick View Tiny White Huipil 1 (Deborah Kruger, 2024) Price $990.00 Quick View Mini Huipil 1 (Deborah Kruger, 2024) Price $1,360.00 Quick View Gold feather Triangle 2 (Deborah Kruger, 2024) Price $680.00

Learn about "Aletheya" - solo show featuring Italian mask maker Alessadra Gusgliara aletheya: glimpses of self. alessandra gugliara solo show | feb 5 - 28, 2026 The Imperfecta Gallery is excited to present Aletheya: Glimpses of self. On view February 5-28 2026, the show includes new works by Italian mask maker Alessandra Gugliara. Aletheya, the ancient Greek word for unveiling, means unconcealment: that subtle moment when truth emerges as one removes what was hiding it. The masks in this collection weren't made to be worn or admired as finished objects. Instead, they're glimpses of the artist’s ongoing inner journey – “traces of the identities one builds over time and shaped through experience, protection, and our adaptation to what life asks us to become” explains the artist. Each piece inhabits an undefined space between mask and essence. By intentionally leaving exposed cracks, asymmetries, and rough surfaces, the artist acknowledges that vulnerability is a form of truth, “perhaps the most authentic one.” Gugliara’s glimpses don't try to showcase something whole. Instead, they invite viewers to pause and embrace a quiet encounter with the invisible layers within oneself - where transformation doesn't come from completion, but from pure presence. The show debuts on February 5, with an Opening Reception from 5 to 8pm. 2024 solo show that featured new original artworks by artist Daria Loi they said. daria loi solo art show | september 7-28, 2024 | imperfecta.xyz On view September 7-28, 2024 this solo show featuring Daria Loi explored workplace bullism, patriarchy, mobbing and betrayal – and the solitude, sadness and rage that comes with them. Drawing from her experiences as a high tech executive, the artist created work that is intimate, dark, uncomfortable, deeply earnest and unapologetic. "After two decades in high tech, I found myself with an immense repertoire of stories that highlight the sordid underbelly of silicon valley and techno-centric organizations." says Daria Loi "I also found I had much to process, digest, move away from and say out loud. So I made art to process and, frankly, scream." The artworks in this exhibit tell harsh, hard to fathom stories that the artist experienced and reflects on – from proteges' betrayals to psychotic managers, queen bee syndrome sufferers and shameless patriarchal behaviors. Artworks have been created by leveraging diverse media: acrylic and ink illustrations, modified natural elements, fiber, found objects, heirlooms, vintage photography, prints, and even human hair. Each piece is accompanied by direct, vibrant yet analytical writings that provide deep insights in the lived events behind each piece. About Daria Loi Daria Loi (PhD) is a participatory designer with a passion for assemblages and the space between art and technology. Ex Intel, Mozilla and Avast executive, she is currently Chief Experience Officer at Astral, serves on DemocracyLab Board of Directors and CETI Executive Council and is Honorary Professor at Newcastle University.
