about the artist
Graphic artist and illustrator. He studied at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Karlovy Vary and at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague under Professor Svolinský. His work encompassed fine art prints, illustration, drawing, and architectural art. Nature was a dominant theme in his work; he created numerous imaginary landscapes using Old Master techniques and illustrated many bibliophile editions. He was a member of the Hollar Association of Czech Graphic Artists and the Union of Visual Artists. His work is represented in the collections of the National Gallery Prague, the Prague City Gallery, the Museum of Czech Literature, and other collections in the Czech Republic and abroad.
