24"x36" , Acrylic and knife on clayboard -
About this piece: To have crow's feet is to be etched with a life of smiling, sometimes into the sun. Yet we are at war with them, treating them as blemishes to be erased, removed, or disguised. When did these lines become powerful enough to steal a walk, a day at the beach, or the simple pleasure of turning our faces toward the light? Can we truly enjoy the walk, knowing each smile and every ray of sunlight deepens the very lines we have been taught to fear?
