"As a new immigrant, she frequently felt unseen. Or better, only some aspects of her complexity seemed visible. Like in an infinite mirror kaleidoscope, a handful of her characteristics kept growing, amplifying, defining her work persona. The exit was hard to discover and most did not have the time or interest to find it. And so, they all remained blissfully locked inside the kaleidoscope, seeing only small, distorted aspects of her reality."
