Things got tense. Eventually, the research committee told her: “You should downgrade.” From PhD to a Masters. Recovered from the shock, she moved to a new department.After completing her PhD thesis in the new department, she received a phone call. “Many congratulations for the impressive results and reviewers’ feedback,” said the research committee director that once asked her to downgrade."
