Bryn, a trans femme organizer and writer, was my collaborator and shoot hairstylist for many years. 
 
At the time of this photograph, she was navigating the pressures of gendered household roles in her first long-term, live-in relationship. She had fought fiercely to be seen and accepted as a woman, and she relished many of the rituals of becoming a housewife even as she felt flattened and erased by its constraints.
